We are seeking a highly skilled Master Mechanic specializing in friction and hydraulic cranes to support marine construction and heavy lifting operations.

This position is based at Weeks Marine’s shipyard in Bourg, LA and includes both yard-based work and on-site vessel support as needed.

✅ Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of friction crane experience
• At least 5 years of hydraulic crane experience
• Master-level troubleshooting and repair expertise
• Experience with cranes in marine or heavy civil construction
• Knowledge of OSHA 1926 Subpart CC regulations
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Physically capable of lifting heavy components and working at heights or confined spaces
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites/vessels

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

• NCCCO Crane Inspector certification or similar
• Shipyard or offshore construction experience
• Welding and fabrication experience
• TWIC Card

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical crane systems
• Perform complete overhauls of engines, winches, clutches, gearboxes, swing drives, and booms
• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and OEM documentation
• Maintain detailed service records (USCG, OSHA, API compliance)
• Supervise and mentor junior mechanics and apprentices
• Coordinate with vendors and OEM technicians for parts and repairs
• Ensure all work complies with company safety standards and regulations
• Respond to emergency repairs in yard or field environments
